Abbey Pynford’s Rail Division press on with the retro fit basement construction for a new ticket hall off Marlborough Place as part of the Bond Street Station redevelopment.

Excavation works for the new basement construction below a Grade 2 listed Heritage Building is nearing completion, exposing an impressive array of temporary and permanent works constructed thus far.

The existing building is now fully supported on a new transfer structure as well as temporary piles and columns.

The next stage of work is the construction of a restricted access secant bored pile wall which has been designed to support huge forces imposed by the design for the redevelopment work.

Once completed this will release the final stages of work including the new basement raft, and interconnecting columns and walls with the superstructure above.

Restricted access, which is Abbey Pynford’s main specialism, remains the biggest challenge.

The below pictures show the progression of the works.
