Case Study Duke Street London - Reaching New Heights

Abbey Pynford go up, over and under

With a little help from the largest mobile tower crane in the UK, Abbey Pynford were able to successfully install a staggering 2738m of 300mm temporary cased sectional flight augured bored piles in a Mayfair basement.  Put in perspective that is a hole the full height of Ben Nevis (the highest mountain in the UK) more than twice over.

Scope of Works:

New piled foundations for a residentail redevelopment

Location:

Duke Street, London

Main Contractor:

Chorus Group Ltd

Client:

Grosvenor Estate

Duration:

8 weeks

We had to work closely with Chorus and Westminster City Council in order to minimise disruption to the occupants and business in one of the most exclusive areas of London while the piling work was being undertaken.

The daily logistic issues and severely confined operating space available on the site is a true test of the experience and determination of our piling crews.
