Scope of Works:

Construction of two basements partially beneath existing two storey detached homes in sandy ground. One for the installation of a ramped car park the other for gym and cinema installation.

Phase 1 – Installation of contiguous piled retaining walls temporary cased through sand and temporary stooling of existing buildings.

In order to safely undertake the excavation of the basements it was necessary for the existing buildings to be supported. In order to achieve this the properties were underpinned by piled reinforced concrete rafts transferring the load of the structure onto a perimeter contiguous piled wall and internal temporary support piles.

Phase 3 – Installation of basement reinforced concrete slab.

Phase 4 – Installation of concrete lining walls and waterproofing measures.

Exposed contiguous piled wall lined with reinforced concrete. Permanent load bearing walls under construction. Once the permanent load bearing walls are installed the temporary internal support piles can be removed.
