Introduction to New Build Foundations

The tide is turning in the foundations industry.  Like the steel frame industry in the 70's, the market is being replaced by design and build contractors.  For example in the past, each steel framed structure was individually designed and prices sought from contractors for that design.  For the majority of frames now, specialist design and construct contractors have proved to offer better value for money.

In the piling industry, a designed and priced scheme is now invariably sought from specialist piling contractors and it is quite rare for a piling contractor to install an independently designed piling scheme.  This is because those constructing piles and steel frames can run through a number of design and price iterations in order to develop the optimum scheme.  Meaning they could hone their operations on site and balance speed of construction and the associated costs with material and other input costs.

This is why our proprietary systems Housedeck and Comdeck are so successful.  We can take on board all the client information and requirements to develop several concept schemes and price each one.  The main driver is always price, but other factors such as speed and environmental impact i.e. reduced spoil disposal often come a close second.  With this knowledge, we hone and re-hone schemes, which normally include our proprietary features to offer the very best value for money.
