We worked with closely Morgan Sindall on this this two plot site, divided between the girls and boys schools, to install our Comdeck system.
One challenge with this project was the required noise and vibration reduction, due to construction taking place during the exam period. By changing the sequence and method we managed to eliminate the heavy-duty breakers, floor saws and the requirement for pile cropping.
In total we installed 322, 300mm dia. CFA piles, not exceeding 15m. We also installed holding down bolts and under slab drainage.
By using the Comdeck system we greatly reduced the spoil removal, eradicating the need to excavate and form ground beams, in turn reducing the concrete required. This also reduced the amount of vehicle and plant movement associated with the excavation, spoil removal, and concrete. Reducing the overall carbon footprint of the site.
Just a quick note to commend you and your teams hard work on the Wendover Woods project. From the beginning of the order process right through to design, construction and signing off the works it was a pleasure working alongside Abbey Pynford on this challenging project.

Treesafe was the ideal solution for this site because it minimised the amount of excavation needed, which was essential due to the close presence of the protected tree. By using a mini rig and hand augering before piling, we could ensure that no tree roots were damaged by the new foundations. Despite poor weather at the time of our works, we were able to continue working without delay.
