Role Overview

Responsible for managing and leading the piling personnel, to deliver all projects on time and on budget. Evaluate and manage the implementation of business guidelines and strategies, working with other department heads to ensure everything runs smoothly and in accordance with guidelines. Focus on daily outputs, record keeping, and the accuracy is key to this role.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the piling operatives to improve upon and achieve targeted outputs.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping, and daily paperwork is in place and adhered to.
  • Seek continual improvement of and complying with the IMS system.
  • Ensure H&S standards and procedures are always observed.
  • Manage the health & safety governance on site, deliver the targeted profit, and ensure repeat business from our client base.
  • Ensure target profit margins are met, work with estimating dept to ensure realistic outputs are in place for tenders.
  • Encourage open-mindedness, seek continual learning and improvement for all company activities.
  • Pro-actively promote continual improvement and Research and Development within the company.
  • Setting standards and defining processes that bring about collaboration and seamless working to delivery on customer needs and satisfaction.
  • Engage and work closely with the estimating team, to ensure realistic and achievable outputs are in place for tenders.
  • Ensuring financial targets and other agreed targets are met.
  • Ensuring the business operates within the company’s mission statement.
  • Driving the business to increase profits and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with all departments to handle orders through all phases, ensuring the co-operation and co-ordination of all internal and external partners involved in the process.
  • Manage client complaints throughout project life cycle (pre-contract, contract delivery and post contract stages) and ensure the Group MD is notified of any issues.
  • Work in unison with the plant department to ensure the correct equipment is specified on the projects, and we achieve a high level of utilisation from in house and hired plant.
  • Seek and engage new subcontractors and lead through the vetting process with Commercial.

Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications
  • · Degree in Geotechnical /Civil Engineering (or Equivalent)
  • CSCS card
Experience
  • Extensive Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Compliance mgt experience
  • Construction experience
  • Experience of foundation systems within the piling arena – desirable.
  • Experience in dealing with main contractor issues, disputes, and demonstrate your ability to resolve for the benefit of our company.
Knowledge
  •  Demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to build a successful an engaged team.
  • Excellent team player, with exceptional organisational, people’s skills, engaging, and possess a down to earth approach to issues and challenges
Skills
  • Highly literate, with strong leadership and management experience.
  • Computer literate with good excel & Microsoft project planner skills.
  • A proven track record of achieving / exceeding targets and will ensure there is always an effective work environment.
  • Possess a high level of motivation to succeed in both favourable and unfavourable circumstances.
